What pad-only service includes
The $169.99 starting price is for replacing the brake pads on one axle—both front wheels or both rear wheels—on qualifying vehicles. It does not include rotors or unrelated brake repairs.
Why the inspection matters: pad thickness is only part of the story. Rotor condition, caliper movement, hardware, and vehicle-specific requirements determine whether a pad-only service is appropriate.
Included in the service
- Brake pads for one axle using the approved package
- Visual inspection of accessible pads, rotors, calipers, hoses, and related components
- Cleaning of pad contact and abutment areas as appropriate
- On sliding-caliper systems, slide pins cleaned, inspected, and lubricated with compatible high-temperature brake lubricant
- Brake hardware replaced when required, with any added cost shown on the written estimate
- Basic operational check after assembly
May require a revised estimate
- Rotors that are below specification, deeply scored, cracked, heat-damaged, or causing pulsation
- Seized or damaged calipers, slide pins, brackets, hoses, bleeders, or fasteners
- Electronic parking-brake procedures, wear sensors, specialty hardware, or manufacturer-specific requirements
- Brake-fluid service, rotor replacement, caliper replacement, or repairs beyond pad installation
- European, performance, heavy-duty, modified, or unusually high-parts-cost applications

Why we inspect before installing pads
New pads need a safe, serviceable surface and freely operating brake hardware. Installing pads over damaged rotors or binding components can create noise, uneven wear, poor braking, or an unsafe repair, so OilDash will not recommend a pad-only service when the condition calls for more.
Rotor condition
We look for scoring, cracking, heat damage, thickness concerns, and surface conditions that can prevent new pads from working correctly.
Caliper operation
Slides, pistons, brackets, hoses, and related movement matter. Binding components can cause uneven wear and poor braking.
Hardware & fitment
Wear sensors, clips, electronic parking-brake procedures, and vehicle-specific requirements are confirmed before the repair is finalized.
