Know the warning signs
What is your vehicle telling you?
Starting and charging symptoms can come from the battery, starter, alternator, cables, connections, or another electrical fault. We test before recommending parts.
Slow crank
The engine turns over more slowly than normal, especially after sitting or during hot or cold starts.
Click / no start
A click without cranking can involve battery voltage, connections, the starter, or control-circuit issues.
Battery light
A charging-system warning light can point to alternator output, voltage regulation, wiring, or connection concerns.
Frequent jump starts
Repeated jump starts are a sign the underlying cause should be identified instead of repeatedly boosting the vehicle.
Dim or unstable electronics
Flickering lights, resets, or unstable accessories can be related to voltage supply or connection problems.

Battery vs. starter vs. alternator
These components work together, but they do different jobs. A no-start does not automatically mean the battery needs replacement.
Battery
Stores electrical energy and supplies the power needed for starting and vehicle electronics when the engine is not providing power.
Starter
Uses electrical power from the battery to physically crank the engine so combustion can begin.
Alternator
Supplies electrical power while the engine is running and replenishes the battery after starting.
